Wellen Der Angst
What do David Pfister, Fritz Ostermayer, Robert Zikmund, Christian Fuchs and David Hebenstreit have in common? They re not only members of the band Neigungsgruppe Sex, Gewalt und gute Laune, but they also have the same employer, because all five of them are radio DJs at FM4 in Vienna. This speaks for eloquence and a somewhat twisted sense of humor. Indeed! The Neigungsgruppe was founded in 2003 as a reading quartet in the spirit of Vienna actionism and M0tley Crüe. Since then there have been numerous tours through Austria and Germany and the debut CD Good Night Vienna was released in September 2007. On this CD they interpret the spirit of the Wienerlied in the form of negative associations of all things. On the follow-up, titled Wellen der Angst , the 5 no longer reveal the breadth of the Wienerlied through cover versions, but in their own songs: whinyness and self-pity all the way up to a desire for suicide. Anger and desperation bordering on running amok. Recited by a choir, accompanied by guitars, violins, accordions and ukuleles. In short: The modern update of the Wienerlied.
