Mirror or Extend Your Desktop Over 3 Displays

Accell’s Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to 3x DisplayPort Multi-Display MST Hub connects up to 3 monitors from a single Mini DisplayPort output. The multi-monitor splitter supports 3 independent displays at 2048x1536 at 6 0Hz each with DP 1.2 multi-stream transport (MST) or 3 mirrored displays at 2560x1600 at 60Hz each with DP 1.1 single-stream transport (SST).

You can view a single image across three displays for gaming, graphic design, or spreadsheet analysis. You can also dedicate each display to a separate application for efficient and productive multitasking. Use 2 MST Hubs with a graphics card with multiple video outputs to connect up to 6 external displays -- ideal for digital signage applications such as video wall configurations.

Features:

- Data bandwidth up to 5.4Gbps per lane, 21.6Gbps total

- Supports resolutions up to 2048x1536@60Hz on 3 independent displays with DP1.2 MST mode

- Supports resolutions up to 2560x1600@60Hz on 3 mirrored displays with DP1.1 (or 1.2) SST mode

- Compliant to DisplayPort versions 1.2 and 1.1a, VESA DDM, HDCP 2.0, and EDID 1.4

- Features 3 DP++ output ports

- Supports 6/8/10/12-bit color depth, RGB 444 pixel format

Minimum system requirements:

- Windows operating system (Mac OS does not support the MST technology)

- Graphics card that supports DisplayPort v1.2 or newer (If using DisplayPort v1.1, the MST hub will mirror the same display to each connected display) Check with the manufacturer of the graphics card if not sure.

- Direct connection to a computer. Use of a docking station between the computer and MST hub is not recommended.

Please note:

1. 2-hub configurations require a video card with 2 Mini DisplayPort outputs.

2. The maximum number of displays is limited by the number of Display Pipes. See Video Card manufacturer for details.

MST Support Topics

Q: Using the Accell MST hub, how can I get my monitors in extended mode? Right now they are mirroring each other.

A: Go to display settings and configure each monitor to Extend mode. If the monitors are not recognized as independent displays, it is likely that the system does not support the MST technology.

Q: Using the Accell MST hub, how can I get all of my monitors to work? Only some are working.

A: Go to display settings and configure each monitor to Extend mode. If it is unable to save the configuration, the graphics card may not support output to all of the monitors at once. Each graphics card can support a maximum number of displays at once, even when using the MST hub. This includes a laptop's built-in screen. You may want to disable the laptop's built-in screen if you want to enable one more external monitor.

Q: How many monitors are supported? Can I use multiple MST hubs for more monitors?

A: Each graphics card can support a maximum number of displays at once, even when using the MST hub. Please check with the manufacturer of the graphics card. Multiple MST hubs can be used. We do not recommend connecting them in a daisy-chain.

Q: Can I use DVI and VGA monitors with the Accell MST hub?

A: Yes. It is recommended to use Accell DisplayPort active adapters if connecting DVI and/or VGA monitors to the MST hub. Make sure you choose the MST Hub with the proper adapter ends for your needs.

Q: What does the Scan button do?

A: Pressing the Scan button will reset the MST hub and re-establish a connection with the connected monitors.
