We have the honor of submitting herewith the Twenty-first Biennial Report of the Department of Agri culture, Labor Statistics, in compliance with the law creating this Department of the State Government.

It is impossible to give a detailed account of the vari ous activities of this Department, and this report shows only a portion of the work really accomplished. The num ber of silos erected throughout the State; the increased number of fields of alfalfa and crimson clover; the numerous mills grinding agricultural limestone; the greater number of live stock; the great improvement in the fertility of the fields larger crops; the activities in the Boys' __oorn Club and Girls' Canning Club work; the continued growth of the Kentucky State Fair; the extended interest manifested in Farmers' Institutes; the improvement in methods of farming; the better live stock; better plowing and seeding; the increased number of agricultural organizations; the improvement in sani tary conditions on the farm; the better and larger com munity life of the people, bear testimony that this De partment has not been idle.
